Painted for Red Hen's 2005 exhibition 'Making Waves' on the theme of the Sussex coast this is one of a series of paintings depicting mackerel - the local catch.

This painting shows a shoal of mackerel swimming off the coast of Brighton with Kemptown, and Rottingdean Windmill visible on the top of the cliffs.
